I noticed them right away. She was holding on to his arm and he was carrying her purse. I thought to myself, what a sweet looking couple. Shortly after they walked in the store, the lovely couple stopped at the booth to inquire about the novel. Once the wife (who later told us her name is Jamie) found out what the story was about, she had to have the book. She sat down and chatted with us for a bit, while her husband (James) went to purchase the book. While James was gone, Jamie doted about the manuscripts her husband had written. I could tell she was very proud of her husband.

It seemed only natural to ask how long they had been married. They were such a sweet couple and I could tell by their actions that they really loved each other. Jamie was not shy by a long shot. She told us the story of how they met. She said she was visiting her sister one day and her sister told her that she had someone she wanted Jamie to meet. When the gentleman arrived, Jamie realized that she had met him before. She didn’t hold that previous meeting against him and decided to go out with him. Within five days of their meeting, they were married. Get this, that was 47 years ago. James and Jamie will be celebrating their 48th anniversary in August. They said they still love each other just as much as they did when they got married. I know this is true because I saw the way they interacted with each other. After 47 years, they are still frisky. It was such a pleasure meeting them and hearing their love story.

It is true that love has no limits. This couple is living proof of that fact. They know they love each other and have found a way to continue to go strong after all of these years.
